Other Phuket Beaches
Rest and Relaxation
Few islands boast as many beaches with clear water as the tiny island of Phuket. Making a choice can be tough, but whether you want remote and secluded, or vibrant, there are any number that will take your fancy.
Only 5 minutes from the airport, you'll find Nai Yang Beach easy-going and laid-back, and you'll find bars and restaurants on the beach. Sirinat National Park encompasses part of the beach, and offers walking trails, and an introduction to local flora and fauna. If you're one for shopping, this probably isn't the place for you, but you'll find a few souvenir shops along the road.
Panwa Beach is about 8km from Phuket town, on the southern tip of the island and while it has some lovely beaches and stunning views, the main beach isn't a swimming beach. Head to Panwa Viewpoint for some spectacular 360-degree views over Phuket.
Found on the northwest coast of Phuket, about 30 minutes from Patong, Mai Khao Beach isn't over-developed and has a pristine beach and beautiful blue waters. Most restaurants are located in the hotels of the area, but there are a few beachside restaurants at the northern end of the beach.
Always check what time of year you are going, as swimming may be too dangerous during Monsoon season.
- Enjoy a Stroll: Take a morning walk around the sandy bay of Panwa Beach.
- Plane Spotting on Mai Khao Beach: Just north of the airport is a great spot to view the oncoming planes as they are about to land on the runway.
- Need a Shopping Fix?: Turtle Village covers 3000sqm of souvenirs, clothing and dining.
