  • Oia is the most picturesque village of Santorini and an ideal place for honeymooners
  • Imerovigli is very romantic and calm, with a great view of the volcano and sea
  • Fira is the busiest spot – stay here if you want to be in the centre of activities
  • For families and people who want to be close to the beach, try Kamari or Perissa

Insider's Tips

  1. Sail around the Caldera (we’ve got day tours!)
  2. White-washed houses clinging to cliffs – exactly what you expect of the Greek Islands
  3. Spectacular sunsets at Oia – get their early to secure a spot as it gets very crowded
  4. Wineries – most will charge for tastings EUR8-15 approx
  5. Akrotiri – Archaeological site destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1,650 BC
  6. Upgrade to a room with a view – it might cost a little more, but it’s worth it, particularly if clients are there for something special. Imagine sitting on your balcony with a glass of wine, looking out over the caldera
  7. Fabulous dining with great local specialties
  8. Not for those with weak knees or mobility problems – lots of steep steps
